🌟 Exciting News! 🌟Exciting Changes to My Young Horse Program in 2025
As I move into 2025, I’m making some changes to my young horse program to better align with the quality and care I want to provide. My priority has always been creating a safe, well-rounded, and confident horse, and to achieve that, I’m restructuring how I work with young horses. • Limited Slots for Young Horse Development: Starting in 2025, I will take only 5 colts per session, with a minimum one-year commitment. The first group will begin on January 1, and the second group will start on July 1, allowing flexibility for those with later-born youngsters. • Why the Change? I’ve found that young horses often go home earlier than I believe is fair to their development, and I want to take the time necessary to set them up for long-term success. This includes completing all groundwork, building a solid foundation under saddle, and ensuring both the horse’s and my safety throughout the process. I will not work on a rushed timeline, as this compromises both the horse’s progress and well-being. • Program Structure: Depending on the horse, we may begin with partial training for the first few months to ease them into the program. Each horse will receive individualized care and attention to suit their specific needs. • Other Training Services: I will continue to take horses for short-term problem-solving or acute training needs (e.g., tuning up before shows), but my main focus will be on the long-term development of the colts in my program. • Deposits and Sign-Up Details: To secure a spot, a $500 deposit is required. This deposit will hold your place in the program and is non-refundable. These limited slots will fill quickly, so early sign-ups are encouraged. • Health Recommendations: To give your young horse the best chance at success in the program, I highly recommend the following before they arrive: • X-rays to check for OCDs and other issues (e.g., back or neck health). • Scoping for ulcers or preemptively starting ulcer medication. Starting a young horse is inherently stressful due to the new environment and workload. Proactive health measures help set them up for a positive experience.
I’m incredibly excited about this next chapter and look forward to working with clients who share my commitment to giving young horses the time and support they need to excel. Please don’t hesitate to reach
